I want to enter too..... Here is a pic from last summer when "Big Boy" was about a yr old - so now he would be 2 yrs old....

Why is it that BR always look so cranky? I thought it was just mine but now looking at all these I can see I am not alone here. Thanks for helping me realize that I do not have the only cranky looking BR's.

mmajw - 2 things,
first - I look at it this way not so much as cranky look but more of a cocky proud look.

Second - what kind of chicken is that black one, Blackie in your pic? I have one exactly like it and don't know what it is, other than a hen... I call mine Black Mama.

She is a Black Giant. I have 2 hens and 2 chicks. They are great and calm and we love them to pieces.

This is Brooster. He is a 1 year old Bantam Barred Rock Rooster. Great producer of fine babies.
