I'm going to assume it was a non-barred EE or Ameraucana roo over a barred rock hen. The reason it's single barred is because the hen can only pass her barring onto cockerels which will only get a single copy of the barring gene as their father wasn't barred. So what you have is an EE sex link cockerelView attachment 1865722 View attachment 1865724 View attachment 1865725 View attachment 1865723 Well it has been 2 months and I have been able to ascertain the gender of 9 out of ten chicks but this one is harder to tell since the markers are mixed. The chick is single barred (black with white stripe) and has yellow legs/feet with a black wash along the front. These point to pullet. But the barring is uneven across the body and it has a prominent 3 rowed pea comb. These say cockerel. Here are some pictures of the bird in question (banded lime green). So far I have 5 cockerels and 4 pullets. I hope Green is a pullet so I only have to cull 5 cockerels from my little flock.

I'm new to the genetics side but I believe the Columbian pattern makes things a bit tricky. I do believe that's used in making sex links though, so perhaps a buff Ameraucana roo over a light Brahma would produce a gold sex link style bird with features your looking for in the cockerel. It would basically look like a brassy light Brahma cockerel because of the leakage if I'm not mistaken. Not sure about the beard inheritance in all that but that would be cool. Now I’m curious if I were to cross an EE rooster to let’s say a Brahma would I get a light Brahma looking cockerel but it have a beard?Ive seen so many Ee mixes and am just curious about how these genes and genetics work.
Okay well the same still applies in that it is darker because it only has a single copy of the barring gene, it's just not a sex link. Still male though based on comb. The parents are:
Rooster is Barred rock. Hen is a red colored EE
