Barred Rock gender??

How old is this chick - it's important in checking out gender clues. BR cockerels can be really slow feathering out but, his barring (dark) makes me think pullet. But pullets also get wing barring faster than males.

Going to need at least a couple more weeks before to committing to either sex.

On second thought, Pullet! I was looking at some pictures of my barred rock adolescents and all my pullets had the coloring and the roosters had the lighter more filled in barring

I agree!

When I had them my pullets were smaller, developed feathers faster, had darker feathers and greyer white barring, as well as smaller, more broken white markings on the head.

These chicks in my estimate are maybe 3.5 weeks old.
