good for you! roosters are a wonderful addition to the flock, they serve such a great purpose, he can deal with the occasional crowing!
you will find a ton of great stories in defense of having a rooster, I wouldn't have a flock without one now. I have 2 and love having them around!

roos are good for a flock they protect the pullets from danger and will even give their life to save their girls. all our coops are inclosed but we still have roos in them just incase something does get in there. hens that have chicks will also give their life to save their chicks

plus sisters are in 4-h and i have 3 of my own that will one day be in 4-h but in the mean time my sisters show them and do pretty good although this year there is a bit of compation, milli flur d'uccle, polishes, and a phinex are the real compation all of them in my opion are better than the ones they are showing, that milli out does my lavender

You may have to end up getting rid of him, but as someone said, hes not going to make a big dent in the feed bill at the moment, and you can take time finding him a new home, rather than killing him if it doesnt work out, but hopefully he'll be a wonderful caretaker of your girls!
