Hey yall! So I've only ever had one barred rock years ago and he was the coolest roo. A few months back we got a few chicks, one of which is a barred rock. She is really sweet but I've never seen barred rocks get these solid black (completely irredescent) feathers popping up everywhere. In the pics I have you can clearly see at least two of them...there's more hidden but more and more are popping out everyday. Shes I assume molting- losing her feathers slowly but they're all being replaced by these black feathers. I don't know what to think of it. Any ideas? Is she actually a mix or is this common for this breed?

I would say it's common for this breed! I've had almost a dozen BR's throughout the years, and I've noticed at least a few that have gotten iridescent green feathers popping up, just like yours
