Was wondering if y'all had guess on these 2.Unsure of age but best guess is 12-13 weeks. Notice the lack of tail feathers on the larger bird and cream legs. Also the size difference on 2 birds supposedly from the same hatch.

The larger bird in the second picture is a cockerel. Looks like about 4 months old. The other one I'm afraid is a cockerel too.

Bought them from a guy who said he hatches a hundred hatchery eggs every spring and sells pullets. They were living in such poor conditions I felt sorry for them. They responded well to a clean environment and water. He told me they were pullets but I'm a beginner so I didn't know better. They were replacements for 2 production reds I lost to a fox. I still have 4 reds ready to lay any day. I wasn't going to have any roosters so I'll give em a little time to be sure then make a decision.
If he is hatching eggs it stands to reason he would have some cockerels....enter me lol

They look pretty similar to mine, they are definitely Barred Rocks. As far as the sex goes, they have the same comb size as mine did at about that size and mine are all hens. Don't give up on them yet, they can still be pullets!

Hope this helps a bit!

I'm just suspicious about the large combs for the age, and the lack of any dark color on the legs. Those nice light yellow legs are usually male signs. They could be male sex links, but I guess time will tell. I sure hope they're pullets for you!

chicken in the first and third is a cockerel i think becuase the tail is starting to bend but give it some time if its a pullet it will straighten out. their maybe around 18 weeks and probably a barred.

Thanks y'all. As for the age, if I go by what the seller said they are 18 or 20 weeks, but they were so small and poor 4 weeks ago when I got them I couldn't believe they were 14 16 weeks then.i thought maybe 10.They have just exploded with proper care.
