barred rock rooster lost his comb

We have a barred rock rooster 7 months old, his comb suffered frost bite, and lost the top fingers, will his comb grow back? I've read that it won't and it could possibly make them sterile... is that true?????

It will not grow back, sorry. I dont know if infertility is permanent from that or just sometimes happens during the painful part of healing.
