Barred rock rooster/Rhode Island Red hen

Did you end up mating the barred rock rooster with the Rhode Island Hen? If so what'd you get? Are they good layers? I plan on doing the same.

I'd enjoy a discussion about a black and white, single barred Japanese bantam rooster (barred father, black mother) crossed with a non-barred, red, half bantam cochin/half crested cream legbar hen. She lays small blue eggs, and he thinks she's very pretty. They like each other a lot, and I'm thinking about seeing what their offspring are like.

I am! Currently incubating 40 eggs, Barred Rock Rooster to BR hens and RIR hens, 5 have hatched so far and all look the same. 04/03/2025

There is no sex-linking in a Barred Rock male x RIR female. All offspring will have barring.
