At 7 weeks, those are most likely pullets. Barred rocks, in a good strain are auto sexing, but those are a bit more difficult than some. Did you get them at a feed store, or from a local breeder?

No, we have just collected them today.Did you get them as day olds? Their combs all say pullet.
I'm thinking all three might be male, but it's a bit early to be sure. The combs seem pretty prominent, and there's a touch of pink coming in on the comb of #2.
If those are 7 weeks I’m guessing mine are much older than I originally thought! My “all hens” lol not looking like they are 4 weeks or all hensWe bought them and were told they were pullets so it looks like we will have to wait and see. They are 7 weeks now so how much longer until it’s obvious? Not sure we can get away with keeping Roo’s here because of neighbours and the kids are getting attached to them already
You probably just keep your chicks cooler than the other person. Temperature has a big influence on how quickly chicks feather in. You've got one cockerel. If those are 7 weeks I’m guessing mine are much older than I originally thought! My “all hens” lol not looking like they are 4 weeks or all hens
It's a cockerel.Hello folks, I am new to this forum as well. I purchased 6 suppose to be pullet barred rocks at TSC. They are about 4.5 weeks old. I believe one of these chickens may be showing characteristics of a cockerel. The bird is lighter with more distinctive barring and comb is starting to get pink with slight wattle growth peaking through. Can anyone please tell me your assessment?
Thank you, i was hoping that was not the case since I cant have roosters where i live. Going to have to find a new home for him. Its too bad because he is a really good looking healthy bird. It's a cockerel.
