Barred Rock vs Cuckoo Marans *added pic of my birds in question

Looking at them, how can you tell the difference? I was sold two pullets at the beginning of last year. I was sold them as Cuckoo marans, but i am unsure now because I am having trouble telling the difference when I look at photos. Can you tell me what I am looking for (other than egg color as neither have begun laying, although they act like they might soon). It's too late in the evening for me to go get photos, but they have the black and white bodies, single red comb (not all that big either) ... i can put up photos tomorrow morning if it'll help.

Rocks have yellow legs
Marans have pinkish/greyish legs

French Marans are feather legged, but I assume yours were not.

Rocks have more distinct barring
Marans have a messier pattern, more grey looking


ETA: in the foreground of this pic is a Barred Rock (from Ideal hatchery)
in the background are two Cuckoo Marans (hatchery stock)
Can you tell the difference in the coloring pattern?

i think i might have marans then, but off the top of my head i cant remember the leg color. I'll have to take pics in the morning so i can have BYC=ers tell me what you think
