Barred Rock with no stripes?

Sorry for bad pic but these two are both supposed to be Barred Rocks. The clearly striped one is a week older, but why is the other not striping out? Just young?
 
It is called "Barring". Get it, "Barred Rocks", "Barring". Anyway, that pullet should already have barring all over her body like the other one in the photo. Looks like a mix breed.
 
there are alot of different types of plymouth rock chickens. barred is a breed with bright white stripes it could be a different breed of plymouth
research that it may help a bit
and i think there is a good possibility that it could also be a result of cross breeding
 
What color are the legs? I suspect cuckoo Marans on the polka dot one. Those were popular at the feed stores this year and would have pink legs with black shading rather than yellow. And the non-barred may be something else. Did it have a dot on the head as a young chick?
 
Both have barring, just not very well defined especially on the other one. They're missing genes that help with better barring and/or have genes that mess up the barring.

marans have white legs, rocks yellow.
