Hi,
I have an eight week old Barred Rock hen with a swollen eye. The eye has been shut for 2 days. This is day 3 and it is now swollen. I see no disharge and the only other symptom is that she is a little lethargic. She is sleeping a lot. None of the other birds are picking on her. She is eating and drinking, deficating normally, and her feathers and appearance is normal. I don't believe it's an infection. My other birds are healthy. I think she may have gotten something foreign in her eye or been poked by another bird. They are all on a 22% starter/Grower non-medicated crumble and live with ducks as well. Does anyone know what I can give her for pain/swelling? I have read on some forums that it is ok to give Aspirin, but I don't know how much and how to administer it. Would I need to isolate her? Any advise would be most helpful! Thanks!
