I just got a 4 week old barred rock hen an I noticed that she doesn't have a comb An was wondering if this normal or do they take long to grow .I just want to make sure she okay

! Pleased to have you aboard! Some pullets are slower to develop combs. I wouldn't worry about it. Best of luck to you and thanks for joining BYC!!

As your little one is still so young the lack of significant comb development is not anything to worry about. If you look where the comb will be you will see the beginnings of a comb - as she grows and mature, her comb will grow in size and then, as she nears the point of laying eggs, it will turn red.
Do you just have the one chick?
