My DH brought home 3 BR chicks last Thursday. One has a lot of yellow on its head, one has a medium amount of yellow and the last one has a faint yellow spot on its head. Is the spot an indicator of gender?

Both of my barred rocks had those spots on their heads, so more than likely they are barred rocks!

Opps, you said gender, I don't know about that.

All of my barred rocks have spots on their head and I ordered them as pullets. Their spots are really small, I read somewhere that males have bigger spots than females but I am not an expert.
Have fun with your barred rocks, out of all my chicks they are the one most fun. They are always the first to come up to me and to investigate anything new.

Uh oh... I don't like that method of ID'ing.... cuz Fric had a smudge of a spot rather than the nice stripe Frac had. Gulp
