My 16 week old Jeanie is sitting on her butt with her feet out in front of her, she is not drinking water of any kind (with or without electrolytes) but she is eating watermelon, tomatoes, with antibiotics on them which the person at our local tractor supply said she needs. Anyone can think or know what might be wrong with her and what to do? They tried to get me to use this dewormer but on the bottle it states if you plan to have eggs to have to destroy them for 17 days. Well mine havent started laying yet and I will not give them this band....

Can she stand at all or move her legs? Does she use her wings to balance. Are her toes curled? Is she overheated from high temperatures in your area? Did she have a Mareks disease vaccination? When worming a chicken, I prefer to give SafeGuard or Valbazen 1/2 ml orally, and repeat in 10 days. Any eggs should be discarded for 14 days after the last dose. Here are some links to read about Mareks disease in case it may be that:

she is real wobbly, today she wouldnt eat her watermelon. Do I need to give the wormer with water?

The wormer is given undiluted by mouth. Could she possibly have coccidiosis that would be making her weak and wobbly? The symptoms are lethargy, puffing up or hunching, diarrhea sometimes with blood, ruffled feathers on the neck, and poor appetite. The best drug for treatment is Corid (amprollium.)

gave her the wormer its called wazine 17 last night 1/2 cc in serenge with 2cc water no change this morning.sorry so vague with my answers yesterday just kinda in shock never had chickens and never one sick but to answer your questions now that im together, standing she trys and eather falls back on her butt or falls on her face like she is dizzy and yes she puts one wing down to hold herself up or trys to flap them to stay upright, but not as much today as yesterday she seems alot weaker today witch i can understand not much eating and drinking will make you weak and she will try to prop up to stay upright, her toes do curl up but she straitens them out when she stands or trys to stand, its been hot here but she is in the shade witch is 80 to 85 in the day and 75 at night, dont know about vacinations have not got in touch with the breeder i got them from but looking at his operation i would think she would, she mostly lays in one spot i try to keep some food there where she can reach the only thing she goes after are meal worms and watermelon i put the antibiotics on the watermelon she ate it good 2 days ago but not so much yesterday
