Barred rocks

I posted pictures what do you think?
Yeah, I think those are boys. Are you buying pullets or straight run? That's crazy you keep getting males if you're buying sexed pullets. Sexlinks are friendly birds. Females are red/brown and males are white. Heres my sexlinks when we got them and now at 4 weeks old. They also lay a butt load of eggs.

All boys. The last one is dark feathered like a girl though. Looks like your store got the boys from some black sexlinks, where they were using the barring as the way to tell. Mixed in with their BRs.

If you breed an all black roo to a barred girl, the boys will all be barred and look just like a female barred rock. and the girls will be an all black chick.

So my last one or the last 2 pictures are of my last one I got. She was all black, small white spot, black legs , double layer wing feathers at 2 days old,and they swore she was a pullet. It’s the comb throwing me off. Maybe she could still be a she?!?!

very cute yes I’m buying sexed pullets so I don’t understand how 3 of the 3 are Roos not pullets. I’m very sad and disappointed

As an example this is a 9.5 week old girl of mine (barred rock x bantam mix) she's just starting to turn red. In the face. Her comb at almost 10 weeks looks the same size or possibly smaller than yours.

Same problem. I was given 3 chicks from tractor supply.. they were only a few days old. Turned out to be 2 roosters and 1 im still not sure about .. it’s a barred rock and has a comb and wattle but they’re smaller and yellow.. it’s tail feathers are bushy. I’m thinking it will end up being a roo too

one of them got much bigger as in body size fast and started crowing around 8 or so weeks I think. The other one just started crowing this week. They’re all a little over 3 months now

the roosters seemed to develop a darker red comb and wattle that were big very young

I fell in love with them and am struggling to give them away now .. I got attached. They aren’t mean or aggressive and I hope they stay sweet

I’m afraid to get anymore chicks from tractor supply and I can’t find anyone around who sells pullets.

Yes it was very hard for me to give up my first 2. One lol other then crowing didnt know he was a rooster. He had to lay between everyone, he was afraid of his own shadow, and he just loved to be held. I don't understand how the tractor store gets away with saying they selling pullets and they are all roos...... like you I get attached I give them names they are my pets. I just cant believe I got 3 out 3 BR roos.
