Hi there!

As most of you BYCers my name is Maxx and I love baseball. I play for Lutz Little League in Juniors (2nd highest league). My team is the Rays. Our record is 3-2-1. We have a great team but we just haven't showed our full potential yet. We are 3rd in the standings. I am an average player. I have been playing baseball for my third season now and I love it! I usually have a 1-3 game or sometimes a 2-3 game. I have gone 0-2 and 0-3 sometimes too but it is usually because I pop out or ground out. I play every position except catcher. I have played mostly 3rd this season and is my best position. I also have pitched this year. I didn't do the best but know I know how I can improve. The 2nd position I have mostly played is all the outfield positions. I get tons of action out there too. Now on to Major Leagues. My favorite major league team is the Rays lol. They are having an awesome spring training! So if there are any Red Sox or Yankees fans out there you better watch out for the Rays!!!!

Talk about any baseball on this thread! Have fun!

Yeah.... My grandpa played baseball in A and AA in the minors for like 7 years. That is how I got into baseball. Because of my grandpa. He played for the Tampa Yankees and teams like that.

Maxx, you make me laugh. I see a lot of myself in your love of baseball going back 30 years with me. I'm a Royals fan, trying being a Royals fan. One winning season in your lifetime and not a world series since I've been in high school 25 years ago. I played outfield in little league, catcher, third and outfield in teener league and high school, tried out for Penn State's baseball team as a walk on and on the day I got cut- the only non-pitcher that made it past walk on try outs, I was offered a place on the bowling team. Nothing against bowling, I still enjoy it, but on the day you get cut from making the college team in the sport you Love, and as fate would have it are tracked down by the bowling coach who's been monitoring the bowling gym elective folks and offered to bowl for Penn State, well it just didn't measure up. I did play in an adult baseball league into my thirties on and against teams with lots of college players on the teams back from school for the summer. I've caught several folks that went on to play minor league ball and got a hit off Jim abbot(one armed pitcher who pitched for the yanks) when our all star team played the olymic team on a tour back in the day.
Looking forward to tomorrow's start of the season. Go ROYALS!!! We're all in first place for a short time. Maxx, I wasn't the most talented guy out there, but I got a lot out of my talent, and played the game I loved well into my thirties. I was dissappointed a few times, but didn't let it hold me back for long. Good luck, enjoy it (seems like you are) suffer through the dissapointments, but don't dwell on them. baseball can humble you a bunch, but it's ooohhh soooo much FUN!! As you know. Good luck and keep us all posted. Kinda tough to root for the Yanks- like rooting for a mercedes to run well- of course it does its' the most expensive car- if it doesn't work well somethings wrong. ANyway good luck. Keystoneapul
