Basic duck questions I should know the answers to but don't.

There, I got that out of the way. I can't believe I don't know these answers.

Anyhoo, I have Khaki Campbell mutts and Swedish Mutts, as well as a purebred Black East Indies. Two drakes are the Swede mixes. When will they start laying eggs? The BEI is a year as of January and the others will be a year in July.

Also, the BEI has been acting funny. She's walking with her butt almost looking like she's trying to tuck it in, she's off by herself, and laying down a lot. I've checked her over and she's not injured in any way, couldn't feel an egg lodged, and she's breathing fine. Any ideas? Could she be readying to lay?

they should all start any day now, my cayugas have been laying for a few weeks.
If the bei hen has a large buldge under her tail, she'd just getting egg ie. You'll notice that on all domestic duck , when they hen starts carring eggs, she'll get a buldge nearly dragging the ground in some cases under her tail. Whne you see that, it's only a matter of a few days.
