Basic info on quail needed.

I'd like to raise quail someday (Mom does too!) and I was wondering what the basics are. Are they like chickens, only smaller, or do they need special requirements? Do I have to feed them game bird feed or standered chicken feed? What about square feet per bird? Thank you!
