Basset Puppy choices

They are both so cute - how can you choose between them? Can't you take both? You know you want to!

That's what happened to us when we went to this place that does beagle rescue - went to get one, ended up with two (actually one is a beagle/queensland X). The second one just sat next to my husband the whole time staring at him, so of course we had to take him, too.
Good luck with your choice. I don't think you could go wrong with either of them.

#2 would be my choice, so cute. We have been looking for a Basset for 2 years. I had them as a kid, congratulations they are the best.

If you're able to visit the puppies one more time, I've heard that you should pick up each puppy that you're considering and just sort of hold it upright in front of you, with it's back legs dangling downward, and see how they react. Supposedly a puppy that allows you to do this without struggling and squirming and freaking out will make a better pet because it shows that they have a more docile, trusting personality, rather than a potentially nervous/aggressive personality. It's worth a try. Of course, being Bassets, they'll probably both hang there like a sack of potatoes!

They're both lovely!

When in doubt, get both. Then get your red and white girl in the spring, too. If anyone asks, tell them you are building your pack of bassets because you want to breed bassalopes. :->
