Battery Back Up

So i will be getting a Brinsea Ova Easy 190 soon. I want to set it up with a battery back up like GQF has for their Genesis model. Anyone have any Ideas to do this? Only thing I can think of is get a car battery and hook an inverter to it and also have a solar trickle charger connected. Does anyone know if this is the right approach? Any pictures? With all the power outages I cant afford to lose that many eggs.

You can get a UPS from most computer stores. A UPS "Uninterruptable Power Supply" is used to keep computers running for a little while during a power outage.
This is what i use, except i took the small battery out and hooked up a 115 amp hour deep cycle battery, so it will run my whole brooder room.
It would be wise to buy a large unit, with a large battery and enough "normal watts" to run everything you need power to.

Pictures of my UPS, with big battery hookup. The more wattage drawing from the unit, means bigger wires to the battery. I can run my brooder room for about 3 1/2 days from one battery.

Thats cool. How do you charge it? I know you can use a regular battery charger but should I go solar? Im trying to think long term if needed. Some people have been a week or more without power.

The unit charges itself when the utility power comes back on. You can also hook the battery up to your car "when started" and let it charge from jumper cables. If you have a generator, some models have a 12v charging port on them.

I know you can use the gennys but I dont have one. I think If I did have one I could hook right up to it but I think I would concentrate on freezers and such. And I wouldnt hook it to a car as It would waste gas and its harder on the electrical system. If you have a major outage who know when you could get gas too. Gas stations may go out. I know Im thinking overkill but its possible. I cant always rely on having a broody. Thanks for your input.
