I am getting several battery chickens soon an was wondering how to ease the change for them and make them trusting?

Thumbs up to you for rescuing those poor hens.

I would give them the same type of feed they have been eating and gradually introduce them to the feed you want them to eat. That way they don't go hungry because they don't recognize the new feed. They will take a few days to a couple of weeks to get used to the new surrounding and to you, but their instinct and curiosity will win out and they will behave like normal chickens do.

Let us know how they turn out.
