The oeg variety, especially the bantams, make wonderful mothers, fiercily guarding her chicks from harm. When they decide to sit they will do so quite well. I have a black oeg bantam, a black oeg standard, and a BB red modern setting on eggs right now. The black breasted red variety will do just as good. However there are several different BB reds - d'Anvers, Aseel (I believe) also have BB red varieties.
