I got 6 BB white turkeys from Ideal poultry about 2 weeks ago..They are in a large stock tank with infra red heat lamp on my porch.. The first couple days, 2 of them got there wing feathers picked on pretty bad. (That was when I got the infra red bulb) I pulled the feathers, cleaned them up, had them in a small cage within the stock tank for a day and everything was fine.. Until today.. I think its those same two.. Blood everywhere.. I got them out and did the same thing and then put bluekote on the areas they were picking on.. There not getting skin, just the feathers..
Why are they doing this?? How can I stop it?? I dont have a bigger area to put them until they themselves get bigger....
Is it there food?? They are on a 16% crumble right now.. Im trying to find something with higher protein. The only thing my feed store carries is an all purpose poultry that is 20% protein..
What can I feed them to up the protein level?? Ive tried mashed up boiled eggs.. How about cat food?? Will that up the protein?
