Hello! This is my first time posting here, first I'd like to apologize in advance for my grammar, English is not my first language, I have a problem with one of my pet chickens, his crop started to get filled with air approximately 2 days now, I took him to the vet of the area, sadly we don't have specialized vets here, he gave him a shot of oxytetracycline and prescribed him 5 drops of pediatric simethicone to help with the gas in his crop, I never saw any of this happening ever, his face gets very pale, he opens his beak wide open and a very roncus like sound comes out with air, and suddenly his face gets cherry dark, he gets his color back when I put him in a better position, if anyone ever had this type of issue and how you resolved I would love to know how

Welcome To BYC

I'm sorry about your rooster, how is he doing?

Can you tell if there's a bad odor coming from his beak or does he have any lesions inside the beak?

You can try treating the crop like it's sour crop using an anti-fungal, I'm not sure if it will help.

Did the Vet do a test on his poop to see if he has worms?

He woke up a feverish but with less air in the crop, only his poop came out smelly, after almost all night having air coming out of his beak, it smelled like something fermented there, but he has no lesions whatsoever on the inside of the beak, I did get a reply back from the vet and he told me to get him 3 drops of pediatric metamizol to help him break down the fever and to keep giving him the antibiotics with vitamins, so far the fever went down a bit, he started wanting to eat food but rejects drinking water unless I drip it into the outer side of the beak with a seringe, I haven't heard the roncus type sound anymore, he stopped having runny poop, but he didn't got tested, since he is always indoors and I've always dewormed him with ivermectin, he has a neurological illness that crippled him into not being able to walk properly since he was a chick, he was able to walk after 4 weeks of intensive vitamins and therapy, but he started losing his balance the past 6 weeks now, but this issue with the crop has only been 3 days now that it started, I will try to get the antifungal medicine, do you know the chemical name? In my country we might not have the same medicine by the comercial name
