My poultry see me take away flock members. They never search for any of those flock members. When a member gets separated from the flock, they yell and scream until the missing member gets back with the flock.

Oh btw I finally finished taking care of everyone just a little bit ago.

Totally cleaned out the coops and added fresh shavings to both of them, put shavings in both runs, put straw in with the quail cage so they have something to keep warm with, and refilled everybody’s food and water and lugged it over to the coops. those feed containers are dang heavy when full. Oh and I stretched the tarp over half the main run. I was gonna do the plastic cause it’s clear but the tarp was already up there so I just used that. It’s only on one side but the other side butts up against the woods anyway so it should be fine. I moved the quail inside the new coop during the last storm and never moved them back so they’re quite protected as is but still cold in that coop so wanted them to be able to snuggle up.

Now I gotta shower and eat something cause I am disgusting after all that and also starving.

Darn! I didn’t think of that tbh. I’m not sure if any of them saw her or not. She was right near them but behind a fence and I think they ran the other direction anyway. I didn’t think to let them see her but that is a great idea and wish I had done it! And now that I think about it, I think they usually have watched when predators took their friends cause they always acted fine after. So I wonder if he didn’t see her.
