I have 7 ameraucana chicks of the Gardner and Cree lines. They may be too young to tell gender, but a couple are looking suspiciously red-ish in the face already. The bigger two were hatched on May 2nd. The smaller ones were hatched two weeks later. What think you, Oh Ameraucana gurus?
The possible cockerals-
The blue:

The splash-

The others don't have any pink on their faces. I would think they are pullets.

The others all look like these two in the face. There are three that have the pinkish/reddish face. Do I have three little boys in the mix?

Yeah, I was hoping that Dipsy would chime in. I would love her thoughts on the birds in general. I think they're beautiful, but I'm totally biased.

Disclaimer: I am not an expert chicken sexer!

But the very first picture, the close up of the blue bird's face, the comb has more than one row of "lumps". I have read that males have that. And females have only one row.

So I'm thinking that the beautiful blue is a little roo.

I could be wrong.

HA! I had all these ready to send you in a PM yesterday and then my computer ate the PM. I keep doing that for some reason. It's that or sending the PM before it's done. Sigh.

Did you catch the green tint on that black? Look at the last picture. It doesn't even show up that well on camera. In person it is amazing! I think of you every time I'm out there watching them. She is starting to be freakin' gorgeous! You are so getting some of those eggs next spring! I shall feed your addiction. BWAAAHAAAAHAAAHAAAA!!!!

There are two that are really red in the face, one that is only partially red (Tiny Tim) and four that aren't even remotely red. They are beige. So I'm thinking maybe three boys and four girls? The red faced ones are the two splash and that dark blue. Isn't that one pretty? The beige faced ones are the two blacks and two more blues (lighter than that one). Pretty decent spread. I was hoping to get a blue roo out of this hatch. I'm kinda bummed that neither splash could turn out hennish, but mabe I'm wrong about Tiny Tim. We'll see.

Glad I saw them here then! They really are beautiful birds.

I can barely see the green sheen in the picture. It's so hard to get it to show up in pics. I'm forever trying to get a pic of my Welsummer roo that shows how glossy-green his tail feathers are. I love black chickens! I want some! Feed my addiction!

It would be awesome if you got more girls than boys out of these hatches. Check them for three rows of lumps on the comb. It's pretty obvious in that first picture. And he is beautiful! I like the dark blue color.
