BBS English Orpington chicks...gender guesses?

That is fascinating! I have never heard that. Interestingly, this baby was hatched in our coop by one of my Cuckoo Marans hens. He was scalped by my "sweet" Cream Legbars (I think), and we rehabilitated him. So, if he's a boy, he will be a very special one. I didn't realize that tidbit about the coloring...I was just so happy to see that he had grown feathers over his injury! LOL
It’s interesting that docile birds just...aren’t sweet....sometimes.

Thanks! I feel like I now know nothing about my chickens! LOL! I have been absolutely convinced that this one was a female! I guess he will be a Sylvester, not a Sylvia. :)
Haha yeah, those wing patches are a dead give away. Although, I understand where you are coming from, I've passed wing patches as "just new feathers" before. ;)

That is.... until I ended up with a guy crowing with long flowy saddle feathers a few weeks later. :lol:
