My beautiful girl is in the 3rd grade at Bethesda Christian Academy here in Durham,NC and for Christmas this year she suggested that the class raise money for a bicycle for the Durham Resuce Mission. The 3rd graders kicked it up a notch and raised enough money for 4 bicycles and our local Walmart donated a $50 gift card to buy helmets. A local news station will be covering the presentation on Thursday as a follow-up to the story that they ran on Thanksgiving Day when the founder of the Rescue Mission asked for 20 bikes. In fact this year the children will be getting 4 toys a piece instead of 2 a piece as in years past. I am so proud of the 3rd graders for thinking of someone else and not of themselves.
