I'm just trying to get my feet wet on these auctions and build some feedback so here is your chance to get a bargain. These are BCM roo over dark egg layers (BCM, other marans varieties, and a black Penedesenca) with a leghorn and BR egg thrown in for contrast. The parent stock is from various breeders around the US. Not a very good pic at all but it is an old one that I had on the computer already, one of the BCM roos and hens when a lot younger. A third of the hens are BCM, so you will get some pures in the bunch and only the darkest eggs unless you request some from the lighter (but still dark speckled or even gradient varieties, i.e. white or blue-splash marans) I'll try and get new bird pics later.

Great fertility and hatch rates so far! These are kind of mid-cycle on their egg color. The girls lay 12+ in 2 days so you will get fresh eggs.

I also have some pure Delawares, Welsummers, Rhode Island Whites, and olive eggers (BCM & Welsummer roos over EE hens) in breeding pens if you would like to mix it up after winning the auction. Just let me know.

Thank you so much for looking and have a great day, all.

any idea what a welsummer/bcm egg look like? would they be as dark? I was thinking of doing this cross just for the darker eggs.

I see that your reserve is not met .Can you tell me how much you want ? And how do you want to be paid ?

I set a $5 reserve because I can sell them locally for almost that and PayPal is fine if setup to pay from a check account or PayPal balance. Otherwise add their fees to the total or I'll pay them if the bid is over $10. Like I said, I'm new to this so I don't know all the best ways to handle things but am open to suggestions. Thanks for your interest.

I haven't tried the cross yet, knowingly, but I had all of them together a couple of months ago and I'm sure that some of the eggs that I hatch then were that cross.

I have been getting darker, more spotted, eggs from some of my marans, unless you just like the Welsummers because they are cool birds.
