Non-barred rooster x barred hen = barred sons (white/yellow head spot) & non-barred daughters (no head spot) A barred hen can only pass barring onto her sons A barred rooster can pass barring onto any offspring As long as the birds aren't something that cover up barring (such as white) it should work. Some colors are hard to see, though.
