BCM vs OE

Curious about what are the differences between BCM and OE hens, how to tell them apart before they start laying?

These two both haven’t laid yet but have some notable differences in their physical traits, trying to guess what they might be.

#1 - single comb, slate legs/feet, brown mixed into back feathers, lighter hackle feathers, smaller body size

#2 - single or pea comb(much smaller), yellow and black legs/feet, black/iridescent back feathers darker hackle feathers and much bigger body size

The one with the straight comb should be the BCM.

The other one not BCM.

Did you purchase one as a BCM? The single comb birds colouring looks off to me, more like a black sex-link or other cross. Too much chest leakage and brown in the body. Its possible its also a olive egger with a single comb, other mix or small chance a poor quality Marans

The eggs I hatched came from a mixed yard with a chance of being pure BCM, so you are probably right on them both not being pure BCM but olive eggers or other mixes.
