What’s up with my “BCM?” Is she even full BCM? I keep getting a green egg that I assume is from one of my Easter eggers. And I never ever seen this chicken in a laying/nesting box. She’s about 35 weeks old. Is she laying a green egg I just haven’t seen her lay? Is she not laying yet? I heard sometimes this breed takes a while to lay. I’m like 99.99% sure she’s a she lol.

She does look like a BCM. She might just not be ready yet. Plus they slow down and/or stopping laying in the fall and winter due to less daylight which could be contributing. Do they free range at all? Could she be laying in another place other than the laying box? Mine don't start laying in the nesting box at first.

I know they usually slow down in the fall/winter, but my other new layers who are her age have all started laying and are still laying despite the shorter days.
They do not free range. They used to have access to my 1 acre yard, but they kept tearing up my garden lol. So, now they are in a 400-ish sq ft run. There is no where in the run or the coop that anyone has laid, I have looked everyday for weeks.
Maybeshe just hasn't started laying yet... It is also possible she is laying an egg that is not as dark as I thought it would be? There is one egg that is a bit darker than my older layers. But I thought it was coming from one of my Buff Orpingtons because it was what was left the box after she left it. I don't know.. I am at a loss lol.

Do you have a picture of it? There should be a clear difference between the two. But also as I think of it my cuckoo maran who should be laying doesn't seem to be as none of the eggs are a darker brown.

The one I am pointing to is my darkest egg.

What breeds do you have?
A ton, it feels like lol. Chicken math!
I have Barred rocks, black australorps, buff orpingtons, columbian rock cross, easter Eggers, olive Eggers, sapphire sky, starlight green Eggers, light brahma who may possibly be mixed with an easter egger, lavender orpington, a turken, and this one BCM. I had her "brother," but I sold him.

It might be the barred rock or columbian rock. It think it is on the lighter side for the BCM. I know for a fact that this is too dark for a buff orpington as they are light in color.
However, a disclaimer is I've not owned these breeds (aside from buff) so this is me just comparing the egg color to images online.

I didn't really think it was the BCM's either, but I was like... maybe I am just crazy, haha! I guess maybe she really isn't laying yet. Just seems so strange because she is 9 months old.
