I am new to keeping backyard chicks so when someone says something, I pretty much take it as gospel. Well, I posted a few weeks ago with pics of my BCM chicks. Someone said one in particular looked like some other rooster might have gotten into the pen and she would make an excellent chicken for my breakfast coop. I was not offended as that's all mine are, pets and for eggs. Well, I happened to run into the gentleman that sold me the chicks and I mentioned how much I loved my chicks and here comes the foot in mouth, oh no, moment...I mentioned about the possiblity of her being a mixed breed. He was highly offended and firmly denied the possibility. I had to pull my foot out of my mouth ( in fact I guess they were both in there) and apologize for the offense. I've learned what not to say.
