Be careful when buying ebay eggs!!

I just hatched a batch of black australorps (supposedly) and they came out like this! I've never seen any BA's that had a reddish brown mixed in with black, have you?! What are these?

Yes, send the seller some pictures and ask. I've gotten a couple of unexpected-looking chicks and the sellers have always provided an explanation. I've even gotten lucky with a lavender chick from some Blue Orpingtons, and some Buffs from Light Sussex eggs, both of which turned out to be from a split parent. That said, I've never seen a brownish variation of Australorp. Good luck!

Heck you have to be careful no matter where you buy them. I don't know what they are, but they are adorable.

Ive gotten some beautiful silkie eggs off of ebay in the past and had an excellent hatch rate....always look at their feedback

If they turn out to be chocolates they might be worth quite a bit! Check out what the chocolate orphingtons are costing. Wow.

Those are not black Austrolorps, I raise and hatch them out all the time. They are completely and totally black with gray legs and toes, those are definitely not Black Austrolorps.
