beach sand in coop

has anyone tried using beach sand in their coop/run? would it be too fine to do its job?

I use sand in my coop. Easy to rake up poop and dries out quickly.

Just a note: if you're getting the beach sand directly off an ocean beach...make sure you rinse it really well. Lots of salt + chickens = not fun.

I get to a lot of tropical beaches.

Many areas have severe penalties for removing sand.

my coops floor isnt beach sand but it is sand.

if you want dirt this close to the beach in florida you have to truck it here.

I wouldn't take it from the beach, it's illegal and there are some serious fines that go along with it.

Dont need to take it from the beach I have a beach in my front yard Hence the Name Sugar Sand Farm. Sand works great and I find less smell than other bedding
