Chirping
Hi - so I have a group of 5 geese, comprising of one gander (Gustavo) and 4 girls (Gertrude, Primrose, Daisy and Pip).
The hierachy is now well established with Daisy top of the food chain, and she can be a bit brutal with the other girls, but today when I came home from work I noticed that 3 of the girls had bruises on their beaks - especially Pip, her beak was bruised and bloodied to the point where I could no longer see the orange of her beak.
I don't have any pics right now as it's dark but can post some tomorrow.
I was wondering if it could be to do with them laying and fighting over the same nest? I built them this huge house with loads of room and for some reason they all want to use the same nest to lay which means a lot of squabbling - but never to this extent.
I know for sure that it's not Gustavo that has injured them as he's a big softy to them all.
One reassuring thing is that they are all still hanging around together so whatever the fight was over seems to have been forgotten - for now.
