My chicken has a severe fungal infection on the side of her beak & inside her beak.
I've read many posts & was excited to read that monistat 3 worked for some folks to kill candida infection. I followed the instructions in that post, but chicken isn't better.
Doing more reading I learned that she shouldn't be having any forms of sugar due to it feeding the fungus. No fruit, grain, bread...I'll start a no sugar diet for her today.
She can't swallow well and her spit is very drooly & sticky. She's skinny. She wants to eat but can't swallow.
I read that 1/4 tab of 200mg IB proferin helps, plus CAPRYLIC ACID. I'll be looking for that today.
Anything else I can do? I thought the monistat was helping but now I don't think so. I'm also putting ACV in her water & rooster booster for probiotics.
Here's a photo of the growth/infection on her beak. We went away for a week and it was like this when we returned. :(
The white stuff in the photo is medicine/monistat.

Any chance you can get a picture of the inside of her mouth? From the one picture I see here, it might be canker.

If it is canker, you'll want to pick up some fish-zole to treat her with. Treatment is one 250 mg tablet once a day for five days.

Is she separated from the rest of the birds? If not, she should be. This is contagious and can spread.

X2

But definitely need better pics... is that white stuff fuzzy? Like mold/fungus???

Might be one issue compounded by a second...

I'm with @Pyxis. It looks as if it might be canker to me. Fishzole (metronidazole) will help if that is the case. Where did you get the diagnosis of fungal infection ? Do an on site search on 'canker' and see it that looks like what she is dealing with. Fishzole can be purchased from RevivalAnimal.com. 800-786-4751

I agree that it doesn’t look like a fungal infection, but better pictures would help. Both canker (a protozoan infection) and wet fowl pox can cause cheesy growths around the beak and mouth. There is no treatment if it is pox, but FishZole (metronidazole, Flagyl) is a good treatment for canker. The dosage is 125 mg twice a day for 5 days for a 5 pound chickens. Canker stinks according to those who have treated it. As always, a vet may help to diagnose. FishZole is available online in 250mg capsules.
