Beak injury?

Two of my hens have this spot on their beaks, like they've rubbed it raw on top or something? This one has some rubbing on the tip too, like its been rubbed blunt on the top beak instead of more pointed. The other two don't. Could they be pecking at each other? This is a new one for me. Should I do anything other than observe? Does that brown stuff look like dried blood or just dirt? Could it be nutritional? Thanks for any input

Looks like normal wear & tear to me. Most of my birds' beaks are well filed down this time of year from all the foraging they're doing.

Are they sticking their beaks through wire to get at grass/plants/bugs or do you have a feeder with sharp edges? I'd check to see if they are damaging the beaks on any of these things, observe to see what they are doing.

Her beak is torn and the quick is showing underneath. She also has an ever so slight hangnail looking portion. I normally leave beaks alone, but I'd use some nail clippers and trim just that hanging part off. As her beak grows out, lightly and gently file it with an emery board to smooth and shape it up.

Any spot where they are able to get their heads through anything, unless they're rubbing it weird on some part of their run's hardware cloth. I'll check for sharp edges. They were confined to their run for a week while we were gone on vacation vs. They normally free range. so maybe there is something in there.
