Beak Problems with my Mille Fluer

I just came across this looking for any extra hints and tips for trimming, not de-beaking, my cross-beaked Ameracauna. She is about 4 months old and is starting to get a bit of overgrowth. She has always spent a bit more time at the feeder, but has been as big as, or bigger, than her sister.

It is a little sad to see her not be able to pick up the scratch I throw out and she crushes up the dried meal worms trying to grab them, but she loves wild rice pilaf, yogurt, mac and cheese, and scrambled eggs as treats/extra rations. She eats out of a hanging feeder-she spills a lot, but she gets her share. She had no problem drinking and I'm in the process of trying to train them to drink from a chicken nipple waterer now.

Good luck with your baby!!

Thank you Jodis! Broke Beak is doing well. She/he is still very small and almost acts like a pet bird! I have made a mash up with her chick crumbles and she can easily eat it. I add poly-vi-sol vitamins to it. He also tries to eat the organic feed I have for the other chicks. He will fly up to the cup when I am trying to get his food ready and chases me when I come outside looking for it. He is such a sweetie and I enjoy him so much. Right now I am struggling with one of my other chicks who got freaked out by our older hens we brought home and has wry neck. We had our black silkie get it but he was cured with the vitamin regiment but "Mohawk" is not responding as well or as quickly. It is an ugly and sad thing to watch. I just want them all to be well :) Mine are about 3 1/2 months old now. How are you going to trim his beak?
