beak recieding

My splash silkie hens beak is only hard on the tip... its soft tissue from the nasal to mid beak. not from tip to nasal like most chicken beak problems. she also has scaley legs which i found is probably mites? can the beak problem be the same mit issue?? what treatments do u recomend? she is new... and about 9 months old.

not quite sure about the beak, never heard of anything like that before. if she has mites you wanna massage her legs and feet daily with petroleum jelly until the mites are gone. don't worry about leaving it on her legs or getting it in her feather on her feet and legs. it has to stay on there to kill the mites. if that doesn't work you can treat her with permethrin mixed with the petroleum jelly, this will kill the adult mites on contact but you will have to reapply after about a week and keep repeating this process until it clears up
