Beak Rot

What is this on my chicken? This hen was killed while crossing the road (insert joke of your choice here) and as we gathered her up to dispose of her, we see this on her beak. I’m sure it’s NOT road rash because we’ve also seen it on another very-alive chicken who seems fine otherwise. It doesn’t seem to be just dirt but there is a lot of dirt mixed in. When looking inside her mouth, it looks like her upper palate is split (like a cleft palate). What do we need to do?
 
The inside of the mouth is normal.

Is it possible for you to wipe the gunk away, or is that actually the beak? Can you clean it off as best you can? Assuming you still have the body.

The inside.is normal. Every chicken is like that. It's hard to see what's going on with the beak though. Can you get a picture of the clean beak or the beak of your other bird who is like this?
