Bear Attacked my chicken coop

That's so scary, glad your chickens are okay. We had to put up an electric fence because of coyotes and raccoons. We thought we were pretty much predator proof and then a racoon climbed over the chicken wire and got onto one of the coops. The next day we hooked up an electric fence and have had no more problems. Apparently raccoons learn quickly.

I think this lady explains it well.........in many cases, she is using a Parmak 12 volt fencer. Same as mine. Some might be solar charged, but otherwise are the same unit. Those dish out some hurt.

Electric fences are the great equalizer. With no consequences to their actions, bears can act with impunity, doing pretty much anything they want. An electric fence changes all that.
