Not sure what could do this other than a bear, last night our Run Chicken dorr was torn clean off the coop! I didn't get a picture of that but I did get a picture of the one door. (Attached) Not pictured is the lock that's usually on the door and the boards that are usually over the hardware cloth and then an insulated tarp that goes over top of the boards.

What ever it is took multiple birds and left one of my girls shredded. 😔

Looks like bear damage. It will be back. You need to reinforce the coop with wood screws and sturdy hinges. Can you get an electric fence? They make solar ones if you don't have power near your coop.

If you get and electric fence put some peanut butter on the wires. You want any bear to get zapped in the face. Their fur is too thick for it to work.

If your coop is far away from the house you can get a cheap driveway alarm and keep the receiver in the house.

So the lock was removed and the door opened?
If it was a bear I'd think you'd see claw marks.
I don't see where the missing boards would have been attached?

What kind of lock was it?
So the bear opened the door to get the bird(s)?
Still think it would have left claw marks.
When we had a bear try to get into our coop a few months ago I also expected to see claw marks. It ripped the poop clean out door off and some wood trim that was attached with finish nails. Upon inspection we found teeth marks and a bear foot print.
