When I turned 50 and had a big party, a lot of jokes were about me and my „lead foot“ ( people in Germany, who like driving fast get that nick name) I think a few friends were surprised! I drive sensible when I see the reason, but it really ticks me off when there is a speed limit on the highway and no reasonable explanation 🙄 of course, whenever there are kids around, I drive responsible too 😇 take the main street for example, when I moved here , speed limit was 70km/hr, then they reduced it to 50/hr, a year ago, they reduced it to 30!!!! Because of noise pollution 🙄 hello, it is one of the MAIN roads leading out of Berlin, and… the road has been noisy all the time, anyone who moved there must have known it isn’t a quiet neighborhood 🤷🏻‍♀️ those kind of speed limits gets my goat 🫩 but why am I known for my love of speeding?! I often have to drive long distances, and it is faster to go faster 😉

Sometime you should calculate the amount of time that the higher speeds shave off of your journey. In most cases it is not as much as people think it is.

It is a proven fact that driving 55 mph uses less fuel than driving 80 mph.

I know I burn through a lot of fuel, that is the only luxury I afford 😉 and, of course, chickens ! There is a big difference to me of I drive 5 or 6 hrs, don’t forget, a lot of german highways have no speed limit, and if I am driving long distance, I drive between 140-180km/ hr. We had visitors and wanted to show them Prague, one day trip, there and back on the same day, it takes me 3 hrs, to get there, hubby was driving the other half of the guests, he took 4 hrs. The thing is, you have more time, if the drive only takes 3 hrs, if it takes 4, that shaves 2 hrs. time off to see the sights
