I wanted to make a thread about my flock and the different things things that tend to happen within it. I've always loved following different flocks, so why not have a record of my own!

Let me introduce the different flocks. First we have the main flock, which consists of a variety of breeds, and mixes.

The Oldies : 4 years old | Hatched June 2020 ( Hatchery )

This is cilantro, the current flock leader. She is a easter egger, and a big troublemaker; escapes every day while we're in the process of rebuilding the run.

This is beau, another one of the oldest chickens in my flock. She's also now my only large fowl polish, since her sister disappeared about 2 weeks ago with no signs of what happened.

This is my oldest rooster, Sugar. He's always been really docile, to the point of getting bested by little silkie roosters, but he'll always have a place in the flock.

The winter babies : 3 years old | hatched February 2021 ( Hatched from the oldies and their lost flockmates )
IMG_6944.jpeg

This is the flock's dominant rooster, Moe (Mohawk man ). He and Rue are from my first ever hatch. He's definitely a strange mix, half polish half large fowl cochin.
IMG_6945.jpeg

This is Rue, she is the chicken who loves to fly up on everything. Trees, fences, water barrel, anything really. She's half easter egger half large fowl cochin.

The Silkies : 3 years old | Hatched April 2021 ( from a small scale hatchery/breeder )
IMG_6953.jpeg

This is peppercorn, a very often broody little silkie. She's been a mother multiple times, and always does a great job. She's got some babies of her own in the flock.
IMG_6954.jpeg

This is fluer, my very angry little silkie with a naked neck. She's the only chicken I've ever had who will peck me in the nest!

Bear's Babies : 3 years old | hatched march 2021 ( hatched from my matriarch hen, who passed away this previous september )
IMG_6948.jpeg

This is churro, she's a shy bird, but she sure does love attention if you give her a bit of time. She's half easter egger half large fowl cochin.
IMG_6950.jpeg

This is maple, she's definitely a pretty flighty bird, but she comes around. She lays the most beautiful speckled green eggs. She's half easter egger half large fowl cochin.

Autumn Baby : Hatched November 2022 ( hatched from the flock )
IMG_6952.jpeg

This is corvus, my moody, grumpy little silkie mix. She's always angry, but never quite broody, she always makes those little broody screams no matter where she is or if she's sitting.

Next up is my bantam rooster flock.

From left to right:
Comet, hatched January 2022 ( silkie hatched from my flock )
Chai, silkie hatched april 2021 ( small hatchery/breeder )
Orion, hatched November 2022 ( Corvus's brother )

Haven't been on this thread in awhile but here are some things happening with the flock!
IMG_0108.jpeg

These babies love to come visit me when I'm coming to see the main flock! They've just been fully integrated recently and everything went smoothly. And there's broody Corvus in that temporary nesting box . Ignore the messy/trashy look of the run, we're building a completely new run and coop fit with some hot wire after a bear destroyed the previous coop twice and killed 7 hens.

Edith hanging out a bit dangerously with the big kids haha, she's a crazy one.

And miss/mr eye pecker themself, little yew!

Also welcomed Barbara Shadow into the flock a week ago! Her previous flock had all been killed, and I happened to have chicks her age so I took her in. She's such a sweetheart!
