I just bought 3 royal palm jennys and all three have decent sized beards. I know it is possible but I have forgotten what it means. If someone could tell me that would be great.

Im not sure what you mean here but its normal if they have beards. Could you post some pics?

Most of my jennies have beards. I think it has to do with heredity, but don't hold me to that. I had one that didn't start growing hers until she was nearly 3.

It means you have older hens. Depending on how long it is. If you have pictures that would be great.
Some varities of turkeys get beards sooner then others, like the Midget Whites. They should have little ones.

No in all fairness, bearded hens are very rare actually. I have 2 rio grande hens that are that way, but have yet to get them to produce another one for me. They started getting them at the same age as my jakes, just thinner and shorter

I thought that

It depends on the variety as to the beard. White Hollands grow a beard the fastest or any we have. An old rule of thumb is the beard on a tom grows about an inch a year in wild turkeys. Domesticated birds tend to grow faster.
