Bearded or non bearded

    How can you tell from one week old silkie chick is bearded or non bearded?

    It's hard to tell. I had a white silkie chick that didn't have a beard at all, then when she was about a month old she got a huge top hat and the biggest beard and muffs you ever saw!

    I only have one silkie and I am hoping for two things...female and bearded. Right now she/he doesn't look like bearded.

    I still have to figure it out how to post a picture. I am new to BackYardChicken. I just bought 2 black silkies today. So......cute. [​IMG]
