Beards

When do beards start showing up on young birds? I think my white polish is a bearded one, she seems to be getting fluffy feathers around her beak. My gold laced black Polish is very "clean-shaven", no sign of any extra feathers. They are about 12 weeks old.

Pictures, you can tell right away if they are bearded or not. Pictures will help greatly

ok, here goes. The white one, Rona, is the one I think is getting a beard but it's hard to see in the pics - these two move in quick jerky movements so it's hard to get ones that aren't fuzzy, either! It's easy to see that the gold laced, Roxy, is NOT bearded. You can see her wattles starting to form. And if you look at my avatar, it's the two of them in profile when they were younger and now I see how much fuzzier Rona's face was even then!

From your avatar picture of them younger, the bearded chicks always seem to have the fluffy cheeks, even with bearded Easter eggers for example

thanks! She's definitely bearded, it's growing more and more every day, poor girl. She's going to be almost totally unable to see anything...

She is very pretty , I haven’t seen to many white ones . She has the perfect top hat

she does have the most perfectly shaped "bob". She also loves juicy fruits and is the messiest of the girls, but she can't help it I guess!
