Beards

So, my D'uccles like to get their beards all icky! They drink water and then go eat food and it's eewey. What can I do to keep them from getting them ruined after I wash them for shows?

I use pop bottle waterers on all my bearded and crested birds. they work great.

Use chicken nipples with 5-gallon buckets for the flock.

I use the drinking bottles you can get for rabbits.
It works very wel for me. The chicks pick it up very qiuck.

In the picture you see the drinknippel. They pick at it and then they get the water.
It is a tube with two metal balls in it and it doesn't leak and the water can't get dirty.
Just hang it where ever you want, round about eye hight.
Learn one how to use it and the rest will probably learn by watching.
Teatching an older chicken to drink from a bottle works the same as it does with chicks.
You push there beaks into the tube and let them taste the water.
Repeat it till they get it.
